This is one of the falcons that live in my back yard. I took this pic over the weekend.

Pictures of a brush fire near my house that I called in and responded to it. Pretty cool seeing all the smoke going up into the atmosphere.

Mr. L. Broad Winged Hawk
This is a picture I took a week ago. I had just gotten home from my vacationing, and as I was unpacking my car I noticed a hawk in a tree behind my apartment. I decided that I really wanted to get a picture of the hawk in flight, so I proceeded to stalk it with my camera. Little did I know that the hawk was enjoying a lazy afternoon, so I actually was watching it for like an hour and a half. After about 45 minutes, I had internally decided that I was in it for the long haul. The thing is that after 1.5 hours of not much action, the thing actually takes flight in about .7 seconds. Here are the best pics I got, slightly cropped and contrast slightly modified:
Interesting News
11/12/11:
From the camera you cannot see anything, but there was a very faint image of the milky way galaxy. Interestingly some cameras have a limit to how dark your photo can be. Because there was no moon visible from my town the night sky was very dark. Which made it hard to see many things.

11/13/11: Im not sure how to upload a picture so im going to tell you about it. The first picture was taken on tetamen feild. It was a picture of a tree that crashed and that was leaning on other trees. Also my second picture had a tree that had yellow leaves on it, in the backround all the other trees had nothing on them. Just the way the sun hit the tree was INCREDIBLE!. Sorry i cand get it up (i will print them out and bring them in on mon.)
